If you drive instead of fly when you have a large family, you can save money if the gas is less than the airfare would be for the whole family, which was usually the case with my family. If you own a motor home, then you don’t have to pay for hotels (though you most likely will have to pay to hook the motor home up to lines for utilities when you stop, but this many times will cost less than hotel rooms). It does take more time, but you see more when you drive too.
