How to buy stocks

July 27th, 2008 by admin

Buying a stock in the stock market is a way wherein individuals can claim ownership over a certain corporation. How does the stock market work? A person becomes a legitimate owner if and when they can present stocks certificate to support their claim. This proof of ownership does not come in a per stock basis. For example, Mr. A bought 1000 shares in XYZ Corporation; he will be issued a certificate signifying his ownership of 1000 shares as a whole and not 1 stock certificate per shares bought.

However, the buying and selling of stocks does not need to be facilitated in the stock market at all times. An individual who wishes to give up their ownership in certain corporation can sell their stocks on their own but, proper documentation and legal papers should be presented to the issuing corporation so as not to create confusion. And names should be submitted from proper appropriation of earnings.
