There are a lot a myths about restaurant jobs and the people who are employed there. Here are the Top Three:

1. There is always an after party.

FALSE - many times after a long gruelling day you just want to go home and scrub the restaurant stink off of you, so although the after party does occasionally happen, it is not every night.

2. You get to eat whatever you want.

FALSE - Many restaurants have very strict rules on what you can eat, and who gets to eat what. Usually the front of the house get a ½ deal, where the back of the house will have a free meal off of a very limited menu.

3. All chefs are like Gordon Ramsey from Hell’s Kitchen.

FALSE - while it does take a certain kind of person to work in the kitchen, not all chefs will scream and insulted you. And the very rarely through food back in your face.
