Presbyopia Surgery Using RLE

This Presbyopia surgery procedure is similar to that of cataract removal surgery. The lens is removed and replaced with an artificial one. The FDA has recently approved the use of multifocal lenses that can correct presbyopia. Because of this development, refractive lens exchange or RLE is becoming more and more popular despite the fact that the FDA hasn’t approved RLE as a feasible alternative for curing presbyopia. Still, people eager to try out RLE can avail of this service at their own risk. Since it virtually uses the same procedure as cataract removal, the RLE procedure is not really all that dangerous despite the lack of approval from the FDA. Currently, there are three brands of multifocal lenses available in the market for correcting presbyopia.
