The American Red Cross is the country’s reliable emergency response organization. It was established in 1881 by prophet head Clara Barton to render charitable care to the victims of war and helping injured parties of devastating disasters by nature.
As time passes by, the American Red Cross’ service expanded by including humanitarian services in five more branches including the following: “(1) services in the community that aid the needy (2) support and comfort for defense forces members and their loved ones (3) the collection, processing and distribution of lifesaving blood and blood merchandises (4) educational programs that encourage well being and safety (5) and international assistance and development programs.”
