What Are the Requirements for Become a Physicians Assistant?

So you have decided that you want to look into the physicians assistant requirements. You will need to have a college degree in some field. It doesn’t matter what field, as long as you have experience, usually two years, in a health care field. If you have a bachelor’s degree in health care, the experience isn’t as important. If you have these prerequisite, you can apply for the physician assistant program, which lasts about 26 months and has about 140 accredited programs from which to choose. So in addition to the bachelor’s degree, you will need two more years of schooling. If you want to have the PA-C behind your name, you will need to graduate from a program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant and pass the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam.
